nokia lumia 920 specifications

Finally, Nokia came forward and lived up to expectation of the users. Nokia and Samsung (ATIV S) just announced their Windows Phone 8 handsets before the Apple’s iPhone 5 event. The latest Lumia series flagship product from Nokia is Lumia 920, powered by Windows Phone 8 OS. After a severe loss in business and loosing smartphone giant title to Samsung, the strategic alliance of Nokia and Microsoft is working hard to reclaim the lost reputation. Nokia is banking heavily upon the next version of the Windows Phone operating system, a do-or-die situation for the company to keep its existence intact.

The excitement bubble surrounding next generation Lumia series bursted when Nokia mentioned the specifications and other features of the device in the live event yesterday. The PureView camera technology which Nokia brags have also failed to entice more tech enthusiasts as it is nothing close to that of Nokia PureView 808 handset. The Nokia Lumia 920 sports mediocre 8.7 megapixels resolution. Definitely, it is better compared to other devices available in this category, but Camera’s megapixels never sells a product, not at-least smartphone. As expected, the new Lumia 920 has got specs bump compared to its predecessor Lumia 900 handset.

The device comes in yellow, red, grey, white and black flavours. The former two color variants may entice more women to buy the product.

lumia 920 features

Former smartphone giant has introduced PureView technology in Lumia 920 device with floating lens optical image stabilization technology. It gives sharper images even in a low light situation. Moreover, it does provide a better video quality even your hand is shaky. The video shows how elegant the video is while capturing in adverse situation like driving a car. Since, Windows Phone 8 OS itself hasn’t been announced we expect to know more details about the apps later. The other impressive feature is that it brings the NFC support and LTE 4G support. But considering iPhone 5 announcement right around the corner, it may not be able to get hold of Apple fanboys.

The sad part is that Nokia has not announced Lumia 920’s ETA or price, which is a big shocker. Considering the fact, Microsoft may reveal all features of Windows Phone 8 sometime next month, we expect to know more detail about Lumia 920 by then.
